Milashina associates attack in Grozny with Islam Nukhanov's case

Elena Milashina, an observer of the "Novaya Gazeta" newspaper, believes that she and Marina Dubrovina, a lawyer from the Krasnodar Territory, were beaten up in Grozny in connection with their attending the trial of Islam Nukhanov, the author of the video depicting Chechen officials' luxurious life.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that late in the evening on February 6, Elena Milashina and Marina Dubrovina were attacked at the "Continent" Hotel in Grozny. The attackers – a group of men and women – beat them with hands and boots. The police reported the start of a check.

The journalist, Elena Milashina, has linked the incident with her professional activities. "With the fact that I had published critical materials about Ramzan Kadyrov," she has clarified. Milashina is confident that the attack on her and Marina Dubrovina, in particular, has to do with the case of Islam Nukhanov.

According to Milashina, they tried not to let her and Dubrovina to the today's court session on Nukhanov case; however, they still managed to get into the courtroom.
