Ingush singer criticized for song in Kadyrov's honour

On December 13, Aina Getagazova performed the song "Nokhchiy Pachchakh" ("Chechen Padishah" – the name of Kadyrov used by his retinue, – note of the "Caucasian Knot") during her solo concert in Grozny. Ramzan Kadyrov was present in person at the concert.

Prior to performing the song, Getagazova announced that she dedicated the song to Kadyrov – "the most devoted connoisseur of arts, a man who does so much for his people and for other nations." The song begins with the words: "Salaam to you from Ingushetia, I send you salaam, thanks to you your country shines ..."

Social network users from Ingushetia have expressed their indignation that Getagazova greeted Kadyrov on behalf of all the Ingushes. "I don't understand why this singing girl decided that she has the authority to do this on behalf of all the Ingushes. At least for my part I declare that I personally hadn't authorized her to do this," Beck Khan, a Facebook user wrote on his page on December 14.

The song by Aina Getagazova, dedicated to Kadyrov, also caused outrage among the Ingushes, who opposed the Chechen-Ingush border agreement.

"Aina, why don't you sing about Zarifa Sautieva? Or about Ingush political prisoners?" the user seda_martazanova_ wrote under the post in which Getagazova emotionally thanked Kadyrov for attending her concert.

Zarifa Sautieva has been under arrest in Nalchik since July 15, 2019 for taking part in the use of violence against law enforcers in the city of Magas, the capital of Ingushetia. Sautieva is the first Ingush woman arrested for political reasons.
