Two persons hospitalized after skirmish at Mtskheta Mayoralty

The members of the "Posmey" (Dare) movement received traumas in a clash with policemen and supporters of the "Georgian Dream' Party that broke out at the Mayoralty of the city of Mtskheta, where protesters came to meet an MP.

On December 2, members of the "Posmey" movement demanded a meeting with Dmitry Khundadze, a majority MP at the Mtskheta Mayoralty, where the MP's office is located. They wanted to bring 41 coins to Dmitry Khundadze's office in order to, in their words, symbolically "buy out" the majority MP.

On December 1, opposition activists gathered near the office of the "Georgian Dream" Party and threw 41 beans onto the ground, explaining that 41 is the "Georgian Dream" Party's number in ballot papers. Thus, oppositionists have shown that "the ruling party had fallen in voters' eyes," Nika Memanishvili, Lasha Chkhartishvili's friend, told earlier the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The activists were met by a police unit. A brawl broke out, in which protesters were opposed by Giorgi Kapanadze, the city Mayor, and supporters of the "Georgian Dream" Party, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports referring to the footage of Georgian TV Companies from the venue.

"You are selling out the country; go home and do your businesses," Giorgi Kapanadze told the protesters, the "Rustavi-2" TV Company reports.

As a result of the brawl, two activists of the "Posmey" movement were hospitalized. According to Tea Meskhidze, a hospital doctor, the condition of the patients is stable, the "Mtavari Arkhi" TV channel reports.
