Blogger Abdurakhmanov announces new Chechen authorities' campaign against him

Chingiz Akhmadov, Director of the "Chechnya Today" Agency, has posted a video on the Instagram accusing Tumso Abdurakhmanov of lying. He quoted the blogger's saying about people from Chechnya who might have been involved in the murder in Germany of Zelimkhan Khangoshvili. According to Abdurakhmanov, the Chechen authorities have launched a new campaign aimed to discredit him.

The residents of Chechnya, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, treat Akhmadov as the main Abdurakhmanov's critic, acting on behalf of the authorities. However, in their opinion, despite the increased criticism of the blogger, this almost does not affect his popularity.

The fight against Tumso has made Akhmadov one of the main mouthpieces of Kadyrov's propaganda, the blogger himself believes.

The campaign to discredit Tumso Abdurakhmanov is futile because it does not eliminate the factors, which had led to his popularity, said Ruslan Kutaev, President of the Assembly of Caucasian Nations.

"He talks about the crimes that are committed against the population of Chechnya ... As long as he covers these events, he is doomed to be famous," Mr Kutaev has stated.

Chechen authorities will stop debating online with Tumso Abdurakhmanov, but will unleash a propaganda campaign against him, said Ali Viskhadjiev, Director of the "Kavkazder", a Chechen public organization in Turkey.
