Soldier dies in Azerbaijan
A conscript soldier has perished in an Azerbaijani military unit.
The incident occurred at night on September 20. "Under unclear circumstances, an extended-service soldier, Mamedov Elyarbei Beigaly ogly, has perished," the website of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported.
According to the Caspian Defence Studies Institute (CDSI), since the start of 2019 and to the end of July, out of a total of 20 perished Azerbaijani military servicemen, only five were killed in combat actions in the Karabakh conflict zone.
According to the Azerbaijani MoD, on September 20-21, the ceasefire regime in the Karabakh conflict zone was violated for 23 times. No losses from the Azerbaijani side were reported.
In its turn, the MoD of Nagorno-Karabakh stated that on September 15-21, Azerbaijani soldiers fired more than a thousand shots at the positions of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defence Army.
