In Quarter 2 of 2019, in Chechnya, three people fell victim to the armed conflict

During the period from April 1 to June 30, 2019, at least three persons fell victim to the armed conflict in Chechnya: one was killed and two others were wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from open sources.

Two law enforcers were wounded; and one alleged militant was killed.

In April and May 2019, there were no victims of the armed conflict in Chechnya. In June, during an attack on policemen, one alleged member of the armed underground was killed, and two law enforcers were wounded.

In Quarter 1 of 2019, in Chechnya, at least three people suffered from the conflict: one of them perished and two others were wounded.

The above statistics does not present accurately, with 100% precision, the real number of victims. Not all the data gets into news bulletins. It is not always possible to check the truthfulness of the statements of law enforcement bodies; while new data on the events that happened during the reporting period sometimes become known after the publication of the statistics by the "Caucasian Knot".

In Quarter 2 of 2018, at least 11 people suffered from the conflict in Chechnya, including 8 casualties and 3 wounded persons.

In total, in 2018, in Chechnya, at least 35 people fell victim to the armed conflict: at least 26 were killed and 9 wounded. In 2017, at least 50 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Chechnya. According to the "Novaya Gazeta", other 25 civilians were executed without trial. Thus, according to the estimates of the "Caucasian Knot" and the "Novaya Gazeta", in 2018, overall, there were 75 victims in Chechnya: 59 persons were killed, and 16 others were wounded. In 2016, at least 43 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Chechnya: at least 27 were killed, and 16 wounded.

In 2015, at least 30 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Chechnya, of which at least 14 were killed and 16 others wounded. In 2014, at least 117 people suffered from the conflict in Chechnya, of whom at least 52 were killed and 65 others wounded. In 2013, at least 101 people fell victim to the armed conflict in the republic: at least 39 were killed, and 62 more were wounded.

In 2012, 174 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Chechnya: 82 were killed, and 92 others were wounded. In 2011, at least 201 people suffered from the conflict, of whom at least 95 people were killed and 106 persons were wounded.

  • Two natives of Northern Caucasus injured in shootout near “Wildberries” office in Moscow

    A shootout took place near an office of the “Wildberries” Company in the centre of Moscow. As a result, at least one person has been killed and several others have been wounded, sources report.
