Invitation of Kadyrov to duel triggers wave of Chechens' appeals to Dagestani resident

A resident of Makhachkala posted a video appeal to Ramzan Kadyrov, calling him to a duel because of his words about Imam Shamil. Kadyrov did not answer the call, but at least three residents of Chechnya volunteered to take the fight instead of the head of the republic. Social media users have criticized the exchange of provocative appeals.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ramzan Kadyrov accused Imam Shamil of repressions against Chechens for their unwillingness to confront Russia. His words triggered protests of residents of Dagestan. Kadyrov later assured that he deeply respected the Imam.

Kadyrov suggested that residents of Dagestan, who disagree with his assessment of Imam Shamil, have a rally in Grozny.

The video appeal of Gadjimurad Isabekov to Kadyrov was spread in social networks on August 23-25. "My name is Gadjimurad, I live in Makhachkala and am a compatriot of the great Imam Shamil, whose greatness you've doubted ... I call you to a battle," he said.

Many Instagram users spoke approvingly of Gadjimurad, although some called him a provocateur.

Commentators on the YouTube have suggested that the head of Chechnya will avoid the duel.

Also on the Instagram, on August 24, a video appeared, in which a resident of Dagestan, who had called the head of Chechnya to a duel, was praising him.
