Researchers of Caucasus warn of blood feud danger in blackmail case of Ingush women

The residents of Ingushetia, who persuaded married women to adultery and blackmailed them, could face expulsion and blood feud, experts of the Caucasus believe.

Earlier, the Ingush police announced the arrest of a resident of the village of Ekazhevo, suspected of participating in a criminal grouping. According to sources, malefactors seduced married women, filmed erotic videos with them, and then threatened to expose them, forcing the women to have intimate relationships with other men.

The crime could threaten the detainee with expulsion from his family clan, Akhmet Yarlykapov, an Orientalist, believes.

According to the Sharia Law, the death penalty would threaten both the seducer and the seduced married women, said Akhmad Anchikhsky, the Imam of a mosque in Dagestan.

According to the norms of Islam, people who have committed such crimes, deserve the most severe punishment, but not all the forms of Sharia punishment can be acceptable today, said Professor Yefim Rezvan, an Islamic scholar and Arabist.

"It's very important that participants in such criminal schemes feel the whole burden of public condemnation," the scientist has added.
