Passengers of flight from Moscow to Yerevan injured in aircraft emergency

A flight of the plane on route from Moscow to Yerevan was interrupted because of smoke in the cabin. According to various sources, 5-10 passengers needed the help of doctors.

The incident has occurred at the Sheremetyevo Airport today. The Yerevan-bound Boeing-737 aircraft of the "Nordwind" airline was preparing for takeoff on the runway, when the crew reported noticing smoke in the cabin, and after that the takeoff was interrupted.

Passengers were evacuated with the help of an inflatable ladder. The spokesperson of the Sheremetyevo Airport reported that five persons sought the help of doctors. Officials from the Department for the Moscow Region of the Russian Ministry for Public Health reported that eight passengers needed medical aid, and one of them still stays in the hospital, the "Interfax" reports.

The Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia reported that ten people were injured in the incident.

The passengers were taken to the capital of Armenia by a reserve aircraft. Meanwhile, 19 people refused to fly, reported the Armenian Embassy in Russia.

According to experts, the incident with the aircraft was caused by ingress of vapors of hydraulic fluid and oil into air conditioners.
