IS posted first video oath of Azerbaijani militants

The "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court, has posted a video of the oath taken by Azerbaijani militants to the leader of the IS. This is the first IS' video from Azerbaijan.

The video shows three men with IS symbols behind; each of them holds a submachine gun in his hands. The men swear oath to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the IS leader.

"The jihadists tell about the resilience of IS militants and about their enemies, including Russia," the Telegram channel named "Directorate 4" reports.

The participation of some Azerbaijani citizens in battles on the side of the IS was known earlier. In the fall of 2018, six IS militants were reportedly captured in Syria, among whom was a native of Azerbaijan.

In January 2018, the State Committee reported that the authorities possessed information about the presence of more than 300 Azerbaijani children and women in Syria and Iraq.
