Chechen authorities leave Tumso's message about wounded local resident without reaction

Law enforcement bodies of Chechnya gave no reaction to the statement by Tumso Abdurakhmanov, who reported that a resident of the village of Novye Atagi was seriously wounded by law enforcers. The video about this incident aroused great interest among YouTube users. Investigators must check the information about the crime, Musa Pliev, an advocate, has stated.

The above Novye Atagi villager, Abubakar Gabanukaev, 24, lost his leg – armed men shot him in the leg, when he prevented them from kidnapping his neighbour. The Chechen political emigrant, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, told about it in his blog on the YouTube. The residents of Chechnya and social network users interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" have condemned the law enforcers' actions.

However, over the past six days, Chechen authorities gave no reaction to the incident. Meanwhile, any report about a crime being committed or prepared is a basis for making a check, Musa Pliev, a lawyer, has stated, noting that investigators should establish whether the incident was a deliberate crime, or just a misadventure.
