Law enforcers try to press Ingush Red Cross because of claims to Musa Malsagov
The Russian Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has stigmatized the Ingush branch of Red Cross as a "foreign agent" only because its head, Musa Malsagov, took part in protests and was arrested, Magomed Bekov, an advocate, has stated.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 27, law enforcers searched the office of the Ingush branch of the Red Cross. Musa Malsagov, the head of the branch, had been arrested within the case of using of violence against law enforcers at a rally in Magas.
"Video clips show that Malsagov, on the contrary, urges young people not to use violence and not to succumb to provocations. However, judges disregard these materials," said the advocate.
On April 19, 2019, the Ingush republic's branch of the NGO "Russian Red Cross" was included into the registry of "foreign agents", says the Russian MoJ's website.
The "hunt" on the Ingush Red Cross was undertaken only because of Musa Malsagov's political views, Magomed Bekov believes.
The activities of the Russian Red Cross are far from politics, Raisa Lukutsova, the chair of the NGO, has confirmed.
