Festival of Puppet Theatres gathers full house in Makhachkala

In spite of a weekday, a performance within the "The Magic World of BRICS Puppet Theaters" International Festival, gathered a full hall, residents of Makhachkala have stated.

Artists from Brazil, South Africa, India, China and Russia participate in the festival.

"An international forum of puppet theatres of this format is held for the first time in the Russian Federation, and we are proud that Dagestan has been granted the honourable right to welcome it," said Anatoly Karibov, First Deputy Prime Minister of Dagestan.

There are not so many cultural events for children in Makhachkala; therefore, the arrival of puppet theatres, especially foreign ones, is a big event, said Patimat Omarova, a city resident.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported about the problems faced by festival organizers in Dagestan. Thus, the anime festival "AniDag", which was to be held in Makhachkala on November 25, 2018, was cancelled because of the received threats.
