Ingush resident sentenced for involvement in IS
Ismail Agiev was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment for his involvement in a unit of the terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS, banned in Russia) in Ingushetia, reported the press service of the North-Caucasian District Military Court.
The Court found that in September 2016, in the Malgobek District, Ismail Agiev accompanied the leader of the IS unit, organized him a meeting with militants, and transported him in his car.
In October 2016, the leader and some members of the terrorist organization unit were killed, and the IS unit ceased to exist, but Ismail Agiev hid from the law enforcement bodies for almost a year and still was a member of the terrorist organization, reported the North-Caucasian District Military Court on its the website.
The "Caucasian Knot" has also reported that on October 7, 2016, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) was carried out in Nazran and the village of Gazi-Yurt in the Nazran District. According to the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), six suspected militants were killed, including Zubair Sautiev, who came from Syria. Spouses Rustam Aushev and his wife Zulfiya rendered resistance and were killed in Gazi-Yurt, a source reported.
