Abbas Guseinov's sister claims his health deteriorated in colony

Abbas Guseinov, Deputy Chairman of the "Muslim Unity" (MU) Movement, receives no due medical care, his sister has complained. She linked the deterioration of her brother's health with the torture, which he had stated earlier.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in April-May 2018, Abbas Guseinov's mother reported her son's beatings at the Gobustan Prison.

Seven persons perished during a special operation in Nardaran in November 2015. The case figurants received from 10 to 20 years in prison.

"For two weeks already, he again had problems with his leg and increased body temperature. He cannot stand on his feet because of severe pains," Sevidj Guseinova, his sister, has reported.

According to her story, Abbas was wounded back at the special operation in Nardaran; later, he fell into coma.

"The wounded Abbas was tortured during the investigation. In the summer of 2017, he was transferred to prison, and the torture continued there," said Sevidj Guseinova.

In August 2017, Yalchin Imanov, an advocate, reported a large number of traces of injuries and haemorrhages on Abbas' body. Guseinov himself said that he had been beaten up and handcuffed to his bed in the dungeon (punishment cell).
