Volgograd activists stand against war in Ukraine

In Volgograd, activists have held solo pickets against the armed conflict in Eastern Ukraine. They demanded to stop the war and establish peaceful relations with the Ukrainian authorities.

On May 8, four Volgograd residents went out to hold their solo pickets in the Heroes Alley, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

The activist Galina Tikhenko held posters reading "No to war!" and "I wish Ukraine peace and good!"; Toma Grodnikova stood with a poster "Russia-Ukraine: we need peace and good-neighbourly relations!". She exposed four more posters against the war and corruption on the bench. Galina Zabolotneva held a poster "We remember? We are proud? Lies! We remember nothing! Especially the main point – there's nothing to be proud of! Only to grieve about!"

Elena Sheina had a poster "Peace to the world! War with Ukraine is madness of our authorities!"

"My posters are against war; I want the Second World War to be the last war in mankind's history," Galina Tikhenko told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
