In Istanbul, opening of Circassian centre gathers delegates from different countries
On April 26, in Istanbul, about 500 people gathered in the city district of Beylikdüzü on the occasion of the opening of the Circassian cultural centre. The creation of the centre will contribute not only to the cultural exchange, but also to the development of economic relations between Turkey and the regions of Russia and other countries, emphasize delegates of the Circassian community.
The evening ended with a concert attended by the delegation of the Adygea's government headed by Murat Kumpilov, the leader of the republic. The event was also attended by Andrei Podielyshev, Russian Consul General in Istanbul, officials of the Turkish authorities, delegates of the Circassian intelligentsia, and delegates from Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports. Speakers addressed the audience in Adyg and Turkish languages from the equipped stage.
When commenting on the event to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, a member of the Ossetian Diaspora reported that the land under the Circassian cultural centre had been allocated to the Diaspora by the Turkish authorities.
