Colorado House of Representatives recognizes NKR's independence

On April 24, 2019, the House of Representatives of the US State of Colorado adopted a resolution condemning the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Turkey. By a separate point, the House recognized the independence of the Republic of Artsakh (the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic – NKR).

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that the US State of Alabama recognized the Armenian Genocide on March 20 this year.

Over 1.5 million Armenians killed in the Ottoman Turkey in 1915 have been canonized in Armenia; Turkish authorities refuse to treat the events as genocide.

Simon Magakyan from Colorado, a member of the "Ay Dat" Committee of the Western Coast of the USA, said on air of the "Yerkirmedia" TV Channel that he was personally present at the discussion of the submitted resolution condemning the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Turkey.

According to the resolution posted on the website of the House of Representatives of the US state of Colorado, April 24 in Colorado is officially proclaimed as the Remembrance Day of the Victims of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Turkey in 1915. A separate point of the resolution states that the State Senate has recognized the independence of the NKR (Republic of Artsakh).

The Senate adopted the resolution unanimously – all the 35 members of the Senate voted for it, Mr Magakyan reports.
