Case of Armenian ex-General Manvel Grigoryan sent to court
The Armenian General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) has approved the indictment in the case of the MP, General Manvel Grigoryan. His wife, Nazik Amiryan, will also face justice.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 10, the Armenian court refused to release Grigoryan on bail.
Manvel Grigoryan, the head of the "Erkrapa" Union of Volunteers, was detained in June 2018 under the case of illegal circulation of weapons and a large-scale embezzlement. The Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, has stated that the retired general had appropriated the humanitarian aid intended for the army.
Nazik Amiryan is suspected of helping her husband in hiding the stolen weapons and soldiers' canned goods in their mansions.
Let us remind you that in February-March 2019, Grigoryan underwent medical treatment, and then, returned under arrest. His defence insists that the ex-general should be released, since custody conditions are adversely affecting his health.
