Dagestani parliament notes unofficial nature of its criticism of Chechen authorities

A message on the unacceptability of the unilateral determination of the border with Chechnya was not an official statement of the parliament and was published only for the media, reports the press service for the National Assembly of Dagestan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 16, Chechnya registered as a part of its territory a disputed piece of land on the border with Dagestan. On April 2, on its website, the parliament of Dagestan noted that "the unilateral definition of the borders had been unacceptable." However, on the same day, the message was deleted.

Ullubiy Erbolatov, the chief of the press service for the National Assembly of Dagestan, stated that the message was not a statement of the National Assembly, but only the information about the reaction of the authorities of Dagestan.

It is out of general practice to delete messages from official websites, notes journalist Magomed Magomedov, a member of the public commission on determination of the border between Chechnya and Dagestan.
