Residents of Dagestan report law enforcers' raid near Kirovaul mosque
Law enforcers checked passports of those who came to Friday namaz (prayer) in the Kirovaul mosque and took away those who had no documents on them. The justification of law enforcers' actions caused disputes in social networks.
Today morning, a mobile security post was deployed at the entrance to the village; then it moved to the mosque, the Republik_dagestan community in the Instagram social network reports. "In the village of Kirovaul of the Kizilyurt District, law enforcers are standing outside the mosque, demanding passports from those who come to the Friday namaz. If they have no passports, they are taken away to identify [them]," says the message.
This information has caused a negative reaction from many commentators. "Standing near the mosque and taking away people – its lawlessness!" - wrote the user 1.tsumada.
However, there are opposing viewpoints. "They looked into the passport – and what? Why do we make a tragedy; just show in silence and go about your business.
