Circassian activists tell about Umarov's links with Arashukov
Oleg Umarov, the founder of the "Dobro Cherkessov" (Circassians' Wealth) charitable foundation, participated in the movement in support of Senator Rauf Arashukov, said Timur Zhuzhuev, the chairman of the youth branch of the "Adyge Khase" of the Kabardian people. In his turn, Arashukov, through Umarov, provided financial support to young people in Kabardino-Balkaria, earning his prestige in the republic, said Umar Tatiev, an author of the Telegram channel kavkaz_leakbez.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Umarov was detained on December 7, 2018, on suspicion of drug possession. He was sick and complained about his health after detention, his relatives said, asserting that the drugs had been planted on him, while his persecution was politically motivated.
On March 12, the court removed Rauf Arashukov from the post of Senator from Karachay-Cherkessia. As suggested by investigators, he was involved in resonant murders.
According to Timur Zhuzhuev, everyone knew that Umarov and Arashukov were in close contact.
After Umarov's arrest, the "Circassians' Wealth" Foundation suspended its activities, said Amina Muslimova, a volunteer. According to her story, the Foundation had planned to help one family, but Umarov's detention prevented to do it.
