Council under Chechen leader recognizes massive falsification of criminal cases
The criminal prosecution of blogger Tumso Abdurakhmanov was unfounded. Moreover, his case is not the only one, and other residents of Chechnya are in a similar situation, recognize members of the Council under the leader of Chechnya on the development of civil society and human rights.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Tumso Abdurakhmanov left Chechnya after a conflict with a relative of Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya. Law enforcers accused Tumso Abdurakhmanov of having links with Syrian militants.
"The criminal case against Tumso Abdurakhmanov was closed. That became possible only after the personal intervention in the case of Magomed Daudov, the chairman of the Chechen parliament. And if it was a mistake, then there is no one to protect other residents of Chechnya who could get into the same situation," said Kheda Saratova, a member of the Human Rights Council under the leader of Chechnya, as quoted by the "Chechnya today".
The Human Rights Council under Ramzan Kadyrov has actually acknowledged that an ordinary person cannot prove falsification of a criminal case without help of a top-ranking official, noted residents of Chechnya interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot". Moreover, they believe that human rights organizations, even official ones, cannot influence the situation with violations of the citizens' rights.
