Head of "Circassians' Wealth" Fund released

Nalchik court has transferred Oleg Umarov, the founder of the "Circassians' Wealth" Charity Fund, from custody under house arrest.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 9, 2018, a court arrested Oleg Umarov, suspected of drug possession, for two months.

Umarov was detained in Kabardino-Balkaria at night on December 7, after which law enforcers in masks broke into his house, where his wife was. Umarov is sick with diabetes and complained about his health after detention, his relatives have told. They also stated that the drugs were planted into his house; and his persecution was politically motivated.

The court reviewed the decision to place Umarov behind bars and placed him under house arrest the website "Sm News" has reported.
