Georgian activists oppose LGBT propaganda among children

On March 3, activists held an action at the UN office in Georgia, demanding to ban programmes aimed at propaganda of LGBTs at schools and kindergartens.

The participants in the action, organized by the "Society for the Defence of Children's Rights", demanded "to cancel the neutral gender programme in kindergartens and stop lobbying LGBTs in sports," Guram Palavandishvili, the head of the Society, has stated, as quoted by the "InterPressNews". The activists also demanded from the UN to stop summer camps that "promote homosexuality among children" and not to admit the adoption in Georgia of the "Code of Children's Rights" drafted by the UN to be adopted, "since it serves to destroy the family and promote the LGBT thinking."

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 17, 2018, supporters of sexual minorities held a rally in Tbilisi. Opponents of the LGBT movement, in their turn, held a counter-action at the parliament building.
