Bomb components found after CTO in Nalchik

The investigators, who examined the private house in Nalchik, where three alleged militants were killed, have found, along with submachine guns, a pistol and grenades, components for making improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime, introduced in Nalchik, the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, has been lifted.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the CTO regime was introduced in Nalchik on the morning of February 27. During the CTO, law enforcers blocked a private house; three men were killed in a shootout. According to law enforcers, they had planned to commit a terror act in the territory of the republic.

The CTO regime was cancelled on February 27 at 1:55 p.m. Moscow time, the "Interfax" has reported with reference to the operative headquarters in Kabardino-Balkaria.

"When inspecting the household, investigators confiscated two submachine guns, a pistol, ammunition for them, grenades of various types, as well as components for making IEDs," the website of the Investigating Department for Kabardino-Balkaria of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) has informed.
