Rally in support of person accused of double killing held in Beslan
According to police estimates, over 400 people came to a rally in support of Oleg Khosonov, accused of the murder of Bichenov brothers in Beslan in June 2018. Oleg's relatives assert that his shooting was an act of self-defence.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 9, 2018, in Beslan, brothers Azamat and Alan Bichenov were killed in a shootout. It was reported that they were shelled from a passing car.
Oleg Khosonov's mother was the organizer of the above rally. She and other relatives organized a collection of signatures to the appeal to President Vladimir Putin.
In his turn, Oleg Khosonov's uncle said that the Bichenov brothers had intended to seize his nephew's business; and a quarrel broke out on the basis thereof.
The wife of Oleg Khosonov read out an appeal to Putin, stating that "legal nihilism and lawlessness in Beslan" have encouraged the authors to write the appeal.
The appeal states that after the incident, the Khosonovs were under state protection, as they received threats of physical violence, including through the Internet.
The authors note that on February 1, 2019, Oleg Khosonov was arrested, "although he did not intend to hide from investigators." Relatives believe that in this way the authorities want to put pressure on him.
