Oyub Titiev's defence persuades court to question fingerprint expert

The fingerprint examinations of the package with the narcotic drug, which, according to law enforcers, was seized from Oyub Titiev, were held with violations, the defence of the head of the Grozny office of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" has stated. The court did not question the expert who came to the session, but agreed to summon another expert for questioning.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Titiev's case has been heard in at the Shali Court since July 19, 2018. On January 15, 2019, the court refused to add the materials, refuting the witnesses' testimonies, to the case files. The court fails to understand the importance of these materials, the defence believes.

On January 9, 2018, Oyub Titiev was twice detained on his way to Kurchaloi. He insists that drugs were planted on him.

His advocate, Pyotr Zaikin, has filed a motion for the interrogation of another fingerprint expert; and the court granted the motion.
