Georgian cartoon about war in Abkhazia included into Berlinale-2019 programme
The animated film "Armed Lullaby" has been included into the programme of the Berlin International Film Festival, to be held in February. The cartoon tells about the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict through the eyes of a child.
The plot is focused on the conflict in Abkhazia, because of which the family of a four-year-old boy is forced to leave Sukhumi. They escape from the conflict zone on a ship, airplane, train and on foot through the mountains of Svaneti, the "News-Georgia" writes.
The cartoon was directed by Yana Ugrekhelidze, who lives in Germany; it was filmed with the support of the North Rhine-Westphalia Film and Media Foundation and the Cologne Academy of Media Arts, the "Georgia-Online" reports.
The Berlin Film Festival (Berlinale) will be held on February 7-17.
