Film by KBR director included into Berlin Festival programme

The movie "Russian Boy" by Alexander Zolotukhin, a filmmaker from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), telling about the events of the First World War, will be screened at the Berlin International Film Festival.

The script of the movie was written by Zolotukhin during his training in the studio of film and television directors by Alexander Sokurov, opened in the Kabardino-Balkarian State University.

The "Russian Boy" is a story about an ordinary village guy, who in 1916 volunteered for the war and lost his sight in the first battle. After the injury, he became a "hearer". This was the name for the soldiers, who, during the WW I, used special acoustic funnels to "listen to the sky", detecting enemy airplanes.

The world premiere show of the movie will take place at the 69th Berlinale to be held on February 7-17.
