Shakhty residents come to funeral service for explosion casualties

The Mayoralty of the city of Shakhty has announced today the mourning day for those who perished in the explosion of the domestic gas in an apartment building. Townspeople came to the venue of the accident to hold a civil memorial service.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on January 14, a gas explosion ruined four apartments on the eighth and ninth levels of a house in Khabarov Street. Five people were killed, and four were hospitalized. Today it became known that the rescue operation is over.

January 16 was announced in Shakhty a day of mourning, the city administration has informed on its website today.

Today, townspeople came to the memorial service at the damaged house and laid flowers to the funeral table, the "Interfax-South" reports.

Let us remind you that more than 100 people have submitted applications for financial payments after the explosion, the Mayoralty has reported today. According to the regional authorities, one-time compensations in the amount of 10,000 roubles will be paid to each applicant. Besides, from 50,000 to 100,000 roubles will be paid to those who have lost their property partially or fully. The casualty's families will receive one million roubles each.
