Sixteenth death of swine flu confirmed in Georgia

A ten-month-old baby has died from swine flu in Georgia. As a result, the death toll from the consequences of the H1N1 flu virus has reached 16 humans. At the same time, doctors record a decrease in the flue morbidity in the country.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the first death from swine flu in the coming season in Georgia was recorded on December 24, 2018, in Batumi. By January 12, the number of deaths from H1N1 flu in the country reached 15 people.

The child died as a result of the flu virus in one of the regions of the country on Saturday, January 12, but it became known only today. As a result of laboratory studies, it was confirmed that prior to the manifestation of the virus, the child had measles, which complicated his state of health, the Georgian Channel One reports with reference to the Georgian Ministry of Public Health.

In his turn, Amiran Gamkrelidze, the head of the National Centre for Disease Control, has stated today a decrease in influenza virus diseases, recorded in the country; however he has confirmed that the number of deaths from swine flu in Georgia reached 16.
