Authorities name gas explosion as the only reason for house collapse in Shakhty

Contrary to assurances of gas industry professionals that the gas equipment in the collapsed house in the city of Shakhty was in proper order, Vasily Golubev, the head of the Rostov Region, believes that the gas leak was the only version of the explosion. Social network users doubt the official version, recalling the tragedy in Magnitogorsk.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that this morning, four apartments in the eighth and ninth levels of a residential building have collapsed at a gas explosion. One person perished; and two others, a man and a girl, were taken to hospital.

"The only version is a household gas explosion," the TASS quotes Mr Golubev as saying, adding that Angelina Volkova, the head of the media division of the "Gazprom Gas Distribution Rostov-on-Don" Company, stated earlier that the gas equipment in the collapsed house had been serviced in the spring of 2018 and was in working condition.

Social networks users suggest a terror act, not gas explosion, and recall the recent similar house explosion in Magnitogorsk.

Let us remind you that on December 31, 2018, in Magnitogorsk, an explosion caused a collapse of one of the sections of a ten-storey residential building. According to the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), 39 dead bodies were extracted from under the rubbles.
