Tenants of a Derbent five-storey building report their version of fire

Today, in Derbent, a fire has broken out on a roof of a five-storey residential building. All tenants have been evacuated.

According to the Department for Dagestan of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), the fire was extinguished at 8:50 a.m. Moscow time. "The fire area was 600 square meters. No one was injured," reports the MfE's Department for Dagestan on its website.

Dagestani Prime Minister Artyom Zdunov visited the place of the incident. Tenants of the residential building told him that they felt the smell of burning. "So, something was broken there," said a tenant of the house as quoted today by the "Makhachkala Izvestia".

After talking to the tenants, Artyom Zdunov also visited the proposed location of the victims at the "Chaika" tourist camp. According to the head of the Dagestani Cabinet of Ministers, the unheated tourist camp is not ready to accommodate people. The Prime Minister of Dagestan instructed the city administration to urgently gather all hotel owners and resolve the accommodation problem, the "Lezgi Gazet" reports.
