UFC President announces a new fight: Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov
The revenge fight between Irishman athlete Conor McGregor and Dagestani fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov will take place in 2019. This was announced by UFC President Dana White on January 1.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 7, 2018, at the UFC 229 tournament in Las Vegas, Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Irishman athlete Conor McGregor and retained the champion belt in lightweight. After the fight, a clash occurred between Khabib Nurmagomedov and members of the opposing team. The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) decided to disqualify both fighters till December 10, 2018.
UFC President Dana White told reporters from the "TMZ" that re-fight between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov should take place this year. "As long as everything is going fine, the battle is to take place," said Dana White as quoted by the "Sport Express" on January 1.
Dana White has also added that in many ways, the fate of the re-fight depends on the outcome of the NSAC's review on the case of a clash at a tournament, the "Kavkaz.Realii" reports today.
