Parents of Grozny schoolgirls report about a dress code at New Year's morning festivities
Some women of Grozny treated as unnecessary a requirement for junior schoolgirls to wear headscarves for the New Year's morning festivities. Such a decision made by parents created problems for teachers with their chiefs, teachers reported.
The requirement for primary schoolgirls to wear headscarves at the New Year's morning festivities was unexpected for parents, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Petimat, a resident of Grozny.
"Even the fact that some girls had their hairs loose provoked the discontent. I understand that if a girl is dressed in our national costume, then she wears a headscarf, but why should the other girls wear headscarves?" says the woman.
An instruction that schoolgirls should wear headscarves at the New Year's morning festivities was issued by the authorities, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was explained by Zarema, a primary school teacher. "Many parents ignored that [requirement], despite the fact that we had notified everyone in advance. And we got reprimands from our superiors. Photos from the New Year's morning festivities were posted on the school's website, and several second-form schoolgirls with loose hairs were on some photos. For that, school chiefs got reprimands from the authorities," said the teacher.
