In Georgia, opposition demands to investigate violations during presidential election

The oppositional "United National Movement" (UNM) Party has video evidence of violations and requires the Prosecutor's Office to detain people suspected of fraud. That was announced by Levan Bezhashvili, one of the party leaders.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that according to the results of the second round of the elections held on November 28, Salome Zurabishvili, supported by the ruling "Georgian Dream" Party, got 59.52% of the votes. Her rival Grigol Vashadze gained 40.48%.

On the air of the "Rustavi-2" TV Company, Levan Bezhashvili noted that the video evidence also included ballot stuffing.

According to him, the UNM demands from the Prosecutor's Office to detain people "involved in the election fraud process."

Earlier, the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has brought 26 people to criminal responsibility for incidents related to the presidential election.
