"Nairit" workers meet Armenian official

The chief of the Armenian Deputy Prime Minister's office promised to consider the project to revive the "Nairit" plant, proposed by a foreign investor. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan did not come out to protesters.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 19, about 100 former workers of the "Nairit" plant held a rally, at which they demanded to pay them penalties for delayed wages. No meeting with acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was arranged.

Today, the former workers of the "Nairit" plant have again gathered in front of the government building with the demand to arrange a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Representatives of the protesters were met by Varag Siseryan, the chief for the office of Tigran Avinyan, the acting Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia. Varag Siseryan said that he instructed the Armenian Ministry of Economic Development and Investments to study the investment project of the Slovak "EU-ASIA Business Finance Centre" holding and the results of the audit conducted by the holding in August-November 2018.

Representatives of a potential investor in the face of the Slovak "EU-ASIA Business Finance Centre" holding met Varag Siseryan in November. According to the results of the expertise conducted by the holding, the "Nairit" plant can be launched with investment of 127 million US dollars.
