Soldiers of Nagorno-Karabakh Defence Army baptized in Shushi

60 soldiers of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defence Army were baptized at the Cathedral of Holy Christ the Saviour in the city of Shushi.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 30, representatives of the Nagorno-Karabakh diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, led by Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, baptized 61 soldiers of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defence Army.

11 people, including public figures, members of the National Assembly, military men, and Khachatur Saakyan, a father of Adam Saakyan, killed in the April war, became godfathers.

"Like last time, crosses and towels were provided by Vicky Marashlyan, a philanthropist from the Armenian Diaspora, a resident of Los Angeles. Godfathers organized a traditional feast after the ceremony," said Margarita Taranyan, the head of the organization "Let's Stand up in Support".

In August, soldiers of one of the northern military units were baptized, and this time, it was turn of soldiers of a southern military unit of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Armenian writer Ashot Beglaryan reported that he had become a godfather of five soldiers who had already served in the army for nine months. He has also noted that he will try to provide support for his godchildren.
