Aslan Cherkesov's mother asks President Putin to transfer her son to another colony
Sonya Cherkesova, a resident of Nalchik, has recorded a video appeal in which she asked to transfer her son Aslan Cherkesov, sentenced for killing football fan Yegor Sviridov, out of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The woman claims her son is being tortured and she has no chance to visit him.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that earlier, in 2017, Aslan Cherkesov filed complaints about regular cases of torture in the penal colony of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. His complaints provoked inspections, but they were of formal nature, and the situation of prisoners was not changed, reported Aslan Cherkesov himself in mid-October 2018.
72-year-old Sonya Cherkesova appealed to the President of Russia, the leader of Kabardino-Balkaria, rights defenders and the public with a request to transfer her son out of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. According to Sonya Cherkesova, her son was sent to the Krasnoyarsk Territory illegally. At the penal colony, Aslan Cherkesov is being tortured and is not allowed to be visited by his relatives and friends, the woman claims.
"Please help save my son, give me the opportunity to return him alive and healthy, at least to send him to the nearest region, to remove him from the Krasnoyarsk Territory, where he is being constantly tortured and where they want to kill him," Sonya Cherkesova concludes his appeal.
