Animated serial about life of mountain villages presented in Dagestan
A presentation of the first three episodes of the cartoon serial "Masters' Aul" about the adventures of a city teenager in a mountainous aul (village) took place in Makhachkala. The authors have promised to organize shows in Dagestani cinemas.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in late 2017, the creation of the animated serial "Masters' Aul" was undertaken by the NGO "Live Word", which received a presidential grant in the amount of 2.1 million roubles. The authors stated the desire to tell about true values of the history and culture of Caucasian nations as the aim of their work.
The plot of the cartoon is based on works of famous Dagestani writers – Gamzat Tsadasa, Akhmedkhan Abu-Bakar and others, as well as tales about the Land of the Mountains. These are educative stories, which reveal the historical heritage, the richness and diversity of cultures, crafts, and the beauty of customs of the peoples of the Caucasus, the RIA "Dagestan" has noted.
According to the authors, the idea of preserving the cultural and historical heritage through cartoons is very popular all over the world.
"The problem is that there is and never was no animated cinematography in the republic … We took up this difficult task by bringing together the best local specialists," says the Instagram of the "Altus" animation studio.
