In Russia, only 30 copies of monograph "Azerbaijanis" sold in a month
In Russia, the monograph "Azerbaijanis" from the series "Peoples and Cultures" is published. Since February 6, only 30 copies of the book have been sold through a network of bookstores. The appearance of such a monograph is a rarity, despite the fact that the book is intended for a wide circle of readers, the authors report. Experts associate low sales with poor information support.
The book publisher does not have its own trading network, noted academician Valery Tishkov. However, he believes that the monographs from the series "Peoples and Cultures" are of interest for the reader.
The book "Azerbaijanis" will be of interest to Russian readers, believes historian Lyudmila Misonova.
According to historian Yuri Anchabadze, one of the authors of the book, in Russia, in general, people know little about the history of the Azerbaijani people, but now there is a revival of interest.
Sociologist Aliaga Mamedli called the publication of the book in Russia an important event for informing Russian citizens and Russian-speaking readers in general about Azerbaijanis and Azerbaijan.
