In the 1st quarter of 2018, 17 people fell victim to armed conflict in Dagestan

In January-March 2018, at least 17 people fell victim to the armed confrontation in Dagestan. Of them, 11 were killed, and other six were wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

In January 2018, two persons fell victim to the armed conflict in the territory of the republic, in February 14, and in March, one more victim was reported.

The death toll included four people, involved, according to the law enforcement bodies, in the armed underground, six civilians, and a law enforcer. Four law enforcers and two civilians were wounded.

The provided statistics cannot reflect the number of victims with the 100 percent accuracy. Not all information is included in the news reports. It is not always possible to check the reliability of the statements voiced by the law enforcement bodies. Besides, new facts about the events of the reporting period become often known after the statistics had been already published on the "Caucasian Knot".

In 2017, at least 55 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Dagestan. Of them, 47 people were killed and 8 others were wounded.

In 2016, 204 people fell victim to the armed conflict in the territory of the republic. Of them, 140 were killed and 64 others were wounded.
