Ingush oppositionists report their plans to fight for lands (+video)

The resolution of the World Congress of the Ingush People on the border agreement will force the authorities of Ingushetia to listen to the protesters' demands, activists believe. There will be no active response to the Congress resolution, believes political analyst Alexei Malashenko.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the authorities of Ingushetia refused to extend a sanction for the rally organized by opponents of the border agreement with Chechnya in Magas after October 17, but agreed to sanction the action for the period from October 31 to November 2. The organizing committee of the rally decided to interrupt the protest action to prepare the World Congress of the Ingush People to be held on October 30.

The stated goal the cancellation of the border agreement has not been achieved, and the World Congress of the Ingush People means a continuation of the struggle, believes activist Bekkhan Khashagulgov. He considers holding the Congress as a new level of the struggle.

The main theme of the Congress will be about the historical borders of Ingushetia and the agreement on the border with Chechnya, reports Malsag Uzhakhov, a member of the organizing committee of the rally in Magas.

The activist does not rule out that the final resolution of the Congress will include a call for the return to Ingushetia of those lands that, according to the border agreement, turned out to be the territory of Chechnya.

The Congress of the Ingush People will bring no results, believes political analyst Alexei Malashenko. The liberal approach of the Ingush authorities, expressed in sanctioning the rally, will reduce tension and ultimately reduce the likelihood of a social explosion to zero, the political analyst believes.

The organizing committee of the rally should go to court to cancel the border agreement, notes journalist Maxim Shevchenko. The people of Ingushetia have the right to influence the decisions of the authorities through political and legal pressure, Maxim Shevchenko believes.
