Ramzan Kadyrov describes his role in freeing businessman Maxim Yakovlev

Adam Delimkhanov, a member of the State Duma, helped to return Maxim Yakovlev, kidnapped in Abkhazia, to his relatives. This was announced by Ramzan Kadyrov ten days after the report on the release of the businessman.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 20, Maxim Yakovlev was kidnapped from a hotel in the city of Novy Afon. A month later, he sent to his wife a note stating that the kidnappers demanded 200 million roubles of ransom to release him.

According to Ramzan Kadyrov, in the summer, Maxim Yakovlev's relatives addressed him and reported that "a fabulously high ransom was demanded for the businessman."

Ramzan Kadyrov has noted that he "will not talk" about the reasons for the businessman's kidnapping.

Analysts have pointed out that the Ramzan Kadyrov's delayed reaction to resonant events is an attempt to demonstrate his significance in Northern Caucasus.

Meanwhile, according to the Chechen ethical code of honour "Konakhalla", "a konakh should be modest in life, in everyday activities, and in public affairs."
