In France, 23 natives of Chechnya detained on suspicion of racketeering
The French police have detained natives of Chechnya suspected of extorting money from truck drivers. The Russian Embassy checks the information.
According to the police, the suspects forced each truck from Eastern Europe to pay them 200 euros to enter Paris. Over a month, they thus got about 200,000 euros, the newspaper "Le Figaro" reports. The natives of Chechnya were detained at the time when they were taking money.
According to the law enforcement bodies, the grouping was led by a 40-year-old Chechen native, the TASS reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 27, in Strasbourg, an 18-year-old native of Chechnya was detained on suspicion of plotting a terror act.
