Over 1000 peasant farmsteads take part in a fair in Nagorno-Karabakh

In Stepanakert, more than 520 pavilions were opened at the "Harvest Day" agricultural fair. Participants of the fair interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" say they would like such events to be held more often.

On October 14, the fair was timed to the Agricultural Worker's Day.

"The number of participants is growing every year ... This year, more than 520 pavilions have been installed," said Karen Mirzoyan, the press secretary for the Ministry of Agriculture for Nagorno-Karabakh.

Family members of Gayane Gevorkyan from the Kumairi community in the Kashatag District brought garden crops and homemade cheese to the fair.

Gayane Gevorkyan herself said that her family moved from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh 22 years ago. According to the woman, the family members decided to create their own farmstead in the Kumairi community, since the authorities allocated a land plot for them as for settlers.

Sargis Arutyunyan, a resident of the Kashatag District, has noted that their district is the most favourable for farming.

Armen Amiryan, a resident of the Ukhtasar village in the Askeran District, believes such fairs should be held several times a year.
