Ingush MPs demand to cancel ratification of agreement on borders with Chechnya

Several delegates from the Ingush National Assembly signed a statement on fraud in the voting for the approval of the border between Ingushetia and Chechnya. They demanded a new discussion of the issue.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 4, the authorities of Ingushetia reported that at a parliament session, out of 25 MPs, 17 voted to ratify the agreement on the administrative border with Chechnya. On the same day, amid a mass protest in Magas, Ingush leader Yunus-Bek Evkurov signed the law on the establishment of the border.

According to sources, the MPs themselves stated that 24 delegates attended the parliament session, and of them, five voted "for", 15 "against", and four spoiled the ballots.

More than ten delegates of the Ingush National Assembly claimed fraud during the voting on the law on the border between Ingushetia and Chechnya, noted Zakriy Mamilov, a member of the National Assembly.

Today, in Magas, despite the bad weather, the activists continued a spontaneous protest against the exchange of territories with Chechnya.

In Magas, the protesters demand to hold a new open session of the parliament to be attended by religious and public figures, reported Magomed Mutsolgov, a blogger of the "Caucasian Knot".

He has noted that the participants of the protest action are not going to leave the place until their demand is fulfilled.

Ruslan Mutsolgov, the head of the "Yabloko" regional office, wrote on his Facebook that in Magas, the number of protesters had increased as compared to October 4.
