In Kabardino-Balkaria, an attack on a policeman becomes the first one in 2018

A murder of a policeman in the Baksan District has become the first armed incident in Kabardino-Balkaria after a shootout with law enforcers in December 2017.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 3, a body of a district police inspector with gunshot and knife wounds was found in the Atazhukino village of the Baksan District. Investigators reported that on October 4, two men suspected of the murder rendered resistance during detention and were killed. According to sources, both of the killed suspects are identified.

One of the suspects was involved in the clashes in the Kendelen village, a source reported.

Earlier, in Kabardino-Balkaria, an armed incident in which policemen were injured occurred in the Urvan District on December 15, 2017. Law enforcers tried to stop a suspicious car, and suspects opened fire from it. A shootout occurred, in which two law enforcers were injured. The National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) reported that a militant was killed. The victim was identified as a 29-year-old resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR).
