Azerbaijani activist detained in Tbilisi

Azerbaijani activist and blogger Azer Kazymzade, who criticized the Azerbaijani authorities, was detained in Tbilisi. Azer Kazymzade can repeat the fate of journalist Afghan Mukhtarly, who was forcibly brought from Tbilisi to Baku. This opinion was voiced by Azerbaijani political migrants.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in September 2017, the International Partnership for Human Rights submitted a report on the pressure on Azerbaijani political migrants in Georgia. Authors of the report noted that some of the Azerbaijani activists, questioned in preparation of the report of Azerbaijani activists, were forced to leave for Europe after moving to Georgia.

Azer Kazymzade has been living in Tbilisi for more than a year, and all the time he sharply criticizes the authorities of Azerbaijan on social networks, in particular, on the page of the "Düşün TV" in Facebook.

On May 30, 2017, Azerbaijani journalist Afghan Mukhtarly, who left for Georgia in 2014, reported that he was kidnapped and taken to Baku. He held the law enforcement bodies and the government of Georgia responsible for his kidnapping.

"Azer ... is being kept at the unit No. 1 of the Vake-Saburtali District police of Tbilisi," reported Azerbaijani political migrant Rasul Mursalov on his Facebook page at 11:34 p.m. on September 19.
